Poverty in France

France is known as one of the wealthiest countries in the UN, but the poverty rate here has been on the rise for years now. In 2016 France had over 9 million people living below the poverty line. It is believed that the poverty rate in France is so high because many of those in need of benefits and assistance from government programs are not taking advantage of them.

The concern for the rising poverty levels has been addressed by implementing welfare programs, but the issue of those programs going unused has not been addressed. It seems that lowering the poverty rate is a priority in France, but it cannot be done if those suffering are simply not seeking help. It appears that the US poverty circumstances are completely different from that of France. The French suffer a lot more than the American citizens whom are being subjected to an impoverished lifestyle.

Nations Encyclopedia  declares that “poverty is almost non-existent” in Kuwait.  Kuwait is very rich in oil and access to this oil for citizens heavily impacts their lifestyles. The rich oil supply contributes heavily to this countries wealth and provides funds for welfare and educational programs which award natural advantages to citizens. Those that fall under the category of poverty in Kuwait are typically not citizens, so illegal immigrants for example are considered to be in poverty.  It appears that Kuwait's government only caters to the needs of their citizens and have no desire to address poverty among  non-citizens.  The image depicted is of a lower class home in Kuwait In the US the poverty levels are strikingly higher in areas where the unemployment rate is high and the educational attainment level is low. Poverty in the Bahamas  The poverty rate in the Bahamas currently sits at  12.5 percent.  The Bahamas has the resources, tools and labor force to reduce the poverty rate, but lacks the vision and ambition to do so .  A large part of people receive financial aid from the Bahamian government . Although multiple leaders in the Bahamas are at odds about how to improve the economy, all agree that something must be done, soon.  P overty and unemployment rates are constantly rising. The citizens and leaders of the Bahamas must find a better way to come together to improve these conditions .  The poverty rate in the Bahamas is much higher than that of the United States.
